A cup of Coca-Cola is used in a Coca-Cola cake.
In the southern tradition of using ingredients by hand to create something special, the Coca-Cola cake is certainly a good example. This chocolate cake recipe has been around for several years and its popularity waxes and wanes, mainly because the idea of a soda in a cake is so weird. However, the Coca-Cola cake is a treat that doesn’t taste much like cola but tastes like exceptionally moist chocolate cake.
Adding Coca-Cola makes a very moist chocolate cake.
The ingredients for the Coca-Cola cake are simple: 2 cups of unplanted flour; 2 cups of sugar; 2 butter Bars; 1 cup of Coke; 3 tablespoons of cocoa; 1/2 cup buttermilk; 1 teaspoon of baking soda; 2 beaten eggs; 1 spoon of vanilla; 1 1/2 cups of miniature marshmallows.
Sift the flour and sugar into a bowl. Heat the glue, butter and cocoa to boiling point and sprinkle with the flour and sugar mixture. Add the buttermilk, club soda, eggs, and vanilla and mix well. Add the marshmallows. They will float to the top during cooking. Pour into a greased and floured rectangular baking dish. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees Celsius) or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Freeze while cake is still hot.
While the cake is baking, mix the frosting. Empty a box of icing sugar in an oven-safe container. Heat 3/4 cup of butter, 3 tablespoons of cocoa and 6 tablespoons of Coca-Cola until it boils. Add this mixture to the icing sugar. Beat well and add 1 cup of chopped walnuts and stir well. Spread over hot cake. The hot frosting will help melt the marshmallows, creating a gooey frosting.
The Coca-Cola cake recipe is almost foolproof. It turns out well and makes a moist cake. A cook can add more cocoa to the icing and batter for more chocolate flavor. This is a wonderful recipe for beginners or young cooks as it is almost always a hit. It’s perfect for picnics or holiday dinners, and most people love it.
