Wart is a concept that comes from the Latin word verrūca. The term refers to a lump or bump that grows on the skin. For example: “Yesterday I had a wart removed from my foot”, “The thief was recognized by a wart on my cheek”, “I would like to know how I can remove these warts”.
Warts are lesions caused by the human papilloma virus, whose acronym is HPV. They are usually painless, although in some cases they cause itching and other discomfort. On the other hand, many people are uncomfortable with the wart’s effect on their appearance.
The appearance of warts varies: they can be oval or globular. Their hue can be darker or lighter than the color of their skin and they can even be black. There are also warts with a smooth surface. Among the most common warts are plantar warts (which are located on the soles of the feet causing movement problems due to the pain they generate) and genital warts, but they can also appear in the armpits, breasts, hands, neck and even eyelids. . Something that many people do not know is that warts are very contagious: just touching a strange wart causes the virus to reach our body, and this applies to all types of warts mentioned above. The curious thing is that, as indicated in the previous paragraphs, it is a condition that does not usually cause pain, but its most feared consequence is the one that it causes in the physical aspect. Before the appearance or detection of a wart, it is important to consult a doctor. The specialist may suggest a biopsy to see if the wart is some type of cancerous growth. Wart removal, for clinical or cosmetic reasons, should be performed by a professional. Warts should not be cut, scraped or burned as these actions can cause heavy bleeding and the wart will still regenerate. To remove a wart, the doctor may indicate the application of a topical medication, resort to laser treatment or perform cryosurgery, among other alternatives. On the other hand, there are numerous home remedies and methods to combat warts, almost all of them with elements that we usually have at home. Let’s see some of them below: * Apply natural lemon juice to the affected area many times a day until you notice results. Lemon is a fruit that is especially beneficial for our health and, in this case, it is its antiviral and antiseptic properties that intervene to help us eliminate irritating warts from our body;
* Prepare a mixture with baking soda and white vinegar and spread it on the wart; * Apple cider vinegar is another recommended alternative because it effectively fights fungi, bacteria and viruses. To apply it we must use a piece of cotton, place it on the wart and then fix it with adhesive tape so that it stays for a whole day; * eat raw garlic or crush it to form a paste and apply it to the affected area, also leaving it for a day to take full advantage of its action; * Apply aloe vera gel on the wart several times a day; * Chop a whole onion into small cubes and leave them for approximately 8 hours in a container with salt.
