To determine the etymological origin of the term Veda, we must go back in time. Specifically, we have to go to Latin because there we discover where the word comes from: vetare, a verb that can be translated as “prohibit by law”.

Veda is the action and effect of sealing (prohibiting something by law or mandate). The term is also used to indicate the period of time when hunting and fishing are prohibited (prohibited). In this sense, the ban is usually applied to avoid the depredation of natural resources and allow the reproduction (and, therefore, the subsistence) of animals. For example: “Tomorrow the pejerrey ban begins in Lake San Jorge”, “A Chinese ship has been accused of violating the ban in US territorial waters”, “Fox hunting is prohibited in these lands. ”

Nor can we forget the existence of the non-profit organization VEDA, Volunteers in Defense of Animals, which has been operating in Bolivia since the 1990s, before the imminence of the elections. The usual thing is that the electoral veto begins a few days before the vote and ends a few hours later, with the aim of leaving the necessary time for citizens to reflect and decide their vote without influence. In the case of Spain, the electoral veto establishes, for example, that the campaign will have a maximum duration of fifteen days and that it must end to allow a day of reflection, during which no media will send information about it. political parties and their respective programs. The electoral ban also tries to minimize the risk of incidents between militants of different political parties during the elections. It is forbidden to go to the voting center with party banners or hold public demonstrations in favor of the candidates. Another electoral ban regulation is the prohibition of the sale of alcoholic beverages, to prevent the voter from feeling tempted by alcohol and, in this way, ending up not going to vote because they are not in a position to vote. Finally, each of the sacred Sanskrit books that form the basis of the religious tradition of Hinduism is called a Veda. Specifically, these are the “layur-veda”, the “rig-veda”, the “sama-veda” and the “atharva-veda” which respectively correspond to the use of sacrifice, poetic recitation, chanting and rituals. In this sense, we cannot ignore the existence of a religion known as Vedism, prior to Hinduism and based on these four documents. Around the 6th century BC it seems that the end of the one who was very rigid in certain aspects ended. Thus, for example, it is known that the maxim to be followed is that the aforementioned prohibitions can only be transmitted orally. To a certain extent, the basic principle was that whoever wrote them would suffer a terrible curse.
