A concave bob haircut is a hairstyle that is longer in the front than in the back. Bobs are usually above the shoulders and follow the jawline, but the haircut on a classic bob is all the same length. This style is also known as an inverted bob, A-line bob, or wedge bob.
When a barber cuts a classic bob, he or she takes all of the hair to a point above the shoulders but below or at the chin line. Traditional bob hair is even around the head, framing the face. However, there are a number of variations to this cut.

Clients with short concave haircuts have hair that is longer in the front and shorter in the back. An alternate name for a concave bob, the A-line bob, indicates the angle at which the stylist cuts the style. Shorter at the back of the head, the angle of the hair becomes lower and lower as it reaches the front of the face.
Layers can be a component of this haircut, especially if the client has fine hair that needs more volume. When a hairdresser cuts layers, they cut the hair to different lengths to create volume and movement. Layers can also soften the ends of your hair so that the bottom of your hair doesn’t look bulky.
Unlike a classic bob, a concave bob can have several different features at the front of the hair. An example could be the bangs cut across the forehead, which gives the entire haircut a very geometric shape. Feathered bangs or angled bangs are another option. For a unique look, a hairdresser can also cut the front sections of the mane asymmetrically so that one side is longer than the other.
People with a concave cut can also change the look of the haircut by parting the hair on one side to make the cut even more asymmetrical. Color is yet another feature a hairdresser can add for a client. Colored bands or streaks in the front of the hair can help emphasize the angle of the hair and frame the face.
