A tablet personal computer (PC) is a cross between a laptop or notebook computer and a personal digital assistant (PDA). It’s essentially a flat screen laptop. The user touches the screen with a finger or a stylus, or uses a stylus to write on the screen. A tablet can connect wirelessly to the Internet and to other computers. The term “tablet PC” originally referred to a specific brand or tablets that were compatible with certain operating systems, but any tablet-sized computer is now sometimes referred to as a tablet PC.
