What is Qian Changzuo?

Modern Chinese aeronautical engineer. He was born in Changshu County, Jiangsu Province, on August 7, 1901, and died in Los Angeles, Beijing. In 1919, the Tsinghua School recommended him to study in the United States.

In 1922, he joined the Aeronautical Engineering Research Class after graduating from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1924 he completed his master’s degree. After returning to China in the same year, he taught at Zhejiang Technical College and Tsinghua University. He started working in aviation in 1928.

He was director of the Central Aviation School of the Kuomintang government, director of the Aviation Machinery School, deputy director of the Aviation Committee Technical Department, director of the Second Nanchuan Aircraft Manufacturing Plant, and supervisor of Leiyun. Central Aircraft Manufacturing.

In the early days, he presided over the biannual “Air Force,” directed the imitation of the Soviet Iraq-16 two-seat ejection trainer, and served as president of the Chinese Society of Aeronautical Engineering established in Hangzhou on April 1, 1934. After moving to Taiwan in June 1949, he was transferred to work in economics. Retired in 1971.
